Jamie Nakamura is all in

Posted in Program Design & Theory on May 15, 2014

When Jamie Nakamura decides to do something, she’s all in. Her decision to return to the fitness industry was no different. Never one to settle, she had spent the past three years researching current fitness trends, but nothing to date seemed to meet her requirements. She knew that she “did not want to work at an ordinary gym,” but instead, “desired to be part of something more unique.” These were the exact words that prompted a friend to suggest MADabolic Inc., and as Jamie likes to say, “the rest is history.”

While the catchy website persuaded her to make the thirty minute drive into Charlotte, Jamie says it was the “thought and detail behind the intervals” that convinced her that she had finally found what she had been looking for. Knowing that “everything she had learned and experienced had shaped her for this.” she wasted no time letting Brandon and Kirk know that joining the MADabolic team was “the next step she wanted to take in her life both personally and professionally.”

Years of competitive basketball had cemented her relationship skills and taught her the value of teamwork. However, it was her individual success in the 800meter race that made her a force to be reckoned with, and earned her a Division 1 Track Scholarship with the University of Cincinnati. To excel, in what the track world calls the MADest race of all, requires a certain kind of tenacity, the kind that naturally radiates from Jamie Nakamura.

Always moving, Jamie still runs today, but has left the track in favor of half marathons. As an athlete she has experienced many different training techniques, but is 100% committed to the “unparalleled training and conditioning program” prescribed by MADabolic. Logging less miles and clocking better times, she is enjoying running more than ever, and is proud to be part of an environment that respects the diversity and encourages the passions of its membership.

When Jamie told Brandon and Kirk she wanted “in,” she already knew that Asheville was the place she wanted to make it happen. The natural beauty and mountainous terrain provide the perfect backdrop for an active lifestyle, and she is anxious to introduce MADabolic Inc. to the thriving eclectic mix that calls it home.

Jamie is putting her heart and soul into her franchise. Currently attending the mandatory training program at MADabolicCLT, AND working part time at MADabolicLKN, she will be more than ready for its opening.  However she is adamant about “placing a dynamic individual to be the general manager and the local force that drives MADabolic Asheville.”

And while there is little doubt Jamie’s own franchise will have her unmistakable signature all over it, rest assured it will be colored with Asheville’s undeniable spirit. Never one to settle, Jamie wouldn’t have it any other way.
