MADabolic Nashville opened its doors in February of 2022. To celebrate their birthday and this exciting milestone, it’s only fitting that we highlight one of their Founding Members, who has been around since day 1!

Meet Amy Hemeon. Since her competitive cheer days in college, a gym that replicated everything she loved about her former athletic training environment just didn’t seem to exist…that is until MADabolic made its debut in Nashville. She joined as a member in February of last year and hasn’t looked back.

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself and your fitness background:
A: Growing up, I was a competitive cheerleader all the way through college. After I graduated, I struggled to find a gym that truly felt like home, the way our team workouts felt. I was a class hopper, I tried them all! Once I tried MAD, I knew I had found something different and it felt like where I belonged.

Q: How long have you been a member at MADabolic?
A:  I joined MAD right when the Nashville location opened, February 2022, and just hit my 200th class!

Q: What drew you in to take your first class?
A:  I saw the free week on class pass, I was intrigued about the phrase “work. rest. repeat”… That’s really what first caught my eye!

Q: What is your favorite thing about MADabolic?
A:  The consistency and the structure! Every day you know what you’re going to get when you walk onto the floor. The trainers are clear and concise, the floor is organized and every one/every thing has a place!

Q: What interval is your favorite (M.A.D) and why?
A:  Definitely momentum. I like the challenge of having to pace yourself through the 70%, 80%, 90%. Especially when the breakdown challenges the different paces within the cycles.

Q: What are your favorite and least favorite movements?
A:  My favorite has to be goblet and/or tailpipe squats! My least favorite is for sure parallette shoot thru’s????

Q: What has been your biggest accomplishment since starting MADabolic?
A: To be able to clean the 50lb medicine ball!

Q: What’s your favorite way to stay active on your off days?
A:   Walking my dog! I am obsessed with my dog (aren’t we all) and he deserves to move as much as I do!

Q: What’s one fun fact about you that not many people know?
A:  I came in 2nd place for a statewide singing competition in high school!

Q: What advice would you give someone who is hesitant to take their first class at MADabolic?
A:  Just start!! Everyone starts at their own place and you will be met where you are at! Also everyone else is too busy focusing on themselves to care about what level you’re at!
