Get to know Kevin Reddick, our January Member of the Month. Kevin is no newcomer to the fitness scene, having played collegiate football for UNC as well as in the NFL. When he’s not working out at MADabolic Raleigh, you can find him running his own mobile gym, InfraRED Elite Fitness. Strength, Structure and Accountability (the core pillars of MADabolic) are all things Kevin is accustomed to as a collegiate & professional athlete so it’s no surprise that he is drawn to the MADabolic programming and culture. Check out his Q&A below:

Q: How long have you been a member at MADabolic?

A:  For a year or so (Raleigh location).

Q: What drew you in to take your first class?

A: My anxiety gets high so working out helps from time to time. So I was looking to find a place where I could be told what to do instead of creating my own workouts. I saw an ad on Instagram for MAD in Charlotte and researched for one near me in Raleigh. I had to try it because it looked like it was a team atmosphere, which is something I’m used too.

Q: What is your favorite thing about MADabolic?

A:  My favorite thing is seeing Emily and Rob the owners actually workout with us. I think as members that’s what we look for to see if, not only can they coach us up, but can they actually do what they are teaching us. Not only them but all of their instructors join in on the classes so I thought that was dope.

Q: What interval is your favorite (M.A.D) and why?

A:  None of them are my favorite haha. I get my butt kicked every time no matter the workout but that’s how I like it haha. If I had to choose I would say the Anaerobic day because it literally reminds me of a hard day in training camp but you have to push through but at the end it will feel great that you’re done.

Q: What is your favorite and least favorite movement?

A:  My favorite movement is boxing and my least favorite is SkiErg – it always has my lats about to cramp.

Q: What’s your favorite way to stay active on your off days?

A:   Taking a MADabolic class is my favorite way to stay active. I lift weights on my own and take MAD classes as one day active rest and the other day as a cardio day or just another workout day not knowing what I’m walking into for the class workout.

Q: What’s one fun fact about you that not many people know?

A:  I guess a fun fact will be that most people don’t know I played in the NFL haha no but fun fact will be I love bowling and I’m pretty good.

Q: What advice would you give someone who is hesitant to take their first class at MADabolic?

A:  Advice would be just go for it – they will coach you up but at the end of the day you can go at a pace that works for you until you are ready to take it up a notch.
