At MADabolic, trainers aren’t just hired; we develop them. Our in-house Training Camp is a multi-day intensive held at HQ that sets the standard for trainer education in the group strength and conditioning space. We go well beyond basic onboarding handbooks and take a hands-on, immersive approach to ensure every MADabolic trainer who hits the floor thoroughly understands MADabolic’s core values and is ready to deliver an unparalleled client experience. The 1:1 attention to detail in a group setting is a strong differentiator in any local market.
What Sets MADabolic’s Training Camp Apart?
1. Deep Dive into Movement Mechanics
Strength training is at the heart of everything we do, and we expect our trainers to have a strong knowledge base when it comes to movement. Training Camp provides an in-depth breakdown of mechanics, teaching trainers how to properly cue, correct, and progress clients through our signature interval-based workouts. Understanding and coaching these mechanics is foundational to our training floor standards, where clients are taught to master form before adding load. Whether it’s smoothly articulating the hip hinge, explosive power movements, or understanding the nuances of controlled strength work, MADabolic trainers leave Training Camp with a level of knowledge that allows them to make a true difference in the client journey at their home studio.
2. Mastering the MADabolic Brand Standards
Every MADabolic location operates under the same high standards, and that starts with the trainer experience. Training Camp immerses trainers in the MADabolic brand philosophy—from class structure and coaching expectations to setting the tone to curating the right playlist for the pace of the day’s workout. Our goal is to ensure that whether a client trains in Austin, Charlotte, DC, or anywhere in between, they receive the same high-quality coaching and experience every time they walk through our doors.
3. Running a Kickass Class
There’s an art to leading an effective class, delivering precise coaching cues, while balancing energy and structure, plus keeping the clock, music, and traffic flow running seamlessly. Our trainers don’t just stand on the sidelines; they are engaged, intentional, and active. Training Camp teaches them how to coach with concise and impactful cues, adapt to different client needs, create an environment that balances clients feeling challenged and supported, and brings the intensity and expertise that defines MADabolic’s training environment.
We believe a great class is more than a workout – it’s an experience, and our trainers are at the heart of making it exceptional.
Test Outs: Where Theory Meets Practice
At the end of Training Camp, every trainer must pass a rigorous Test Out before they can officially take the floor. The Test Out evaluates trainers across several key areas: power, endurance, baseline strength, and clean movement mechanics.
MADabolic trainers are expected to walk the walk. Not only do we look to them to train 4x/week, but we expect them to demonstrate proper movement form when leading class.
On our floor, leading class as a trainer isn’t just about giving instructions – it’s about setting the standard. If a trainer can’t execute the movements they’re coaching, they’re simply not ready to lead our clients.
Failure to meet the standard means additional training—there are no shortcuts to coaching at MADabolic. The title of “MADabolic Trainer” is earned, not given.
Raising the Bar for Strength and Conditioning Coaching
MADabolic’s Training Camp isn’t just a checkbox in the hiring process—it’s a commitment to developing best-in-class trainers who understand strength and conditioning and the importance of structured programming. Our approach demonstrates our commitment to every MADabolic client’s experience on the training floor, ensuring coaching that is technical, intentional, and results-driven.
When you train at MADabolic, you’re not just taking a class—you’re learning from the best.
That’s the difference. That’s the standard. And that’s why we invest so much into Training Camp—to build coaches who can deliver the most effective strength-driven workouts in the industry.
Because at MADabolic, we don’t speak average.
