MADabolic’s recent rapid-fire growth to several major markets is proof that there is an appetite for the type of focused and calibrated workouts that the boutique fitness franchise delivers.

The franchise burst onto the fitness scene in Washington, D.C. this summer, opening the new MADabolic H-Street location with franchisee Corbin Jennings. Jennings, who already owns a location in Arlington, Virginia, was sold on the concept after noticing the dedication and focus of MADabolic founders Brandon Cullen and Kirk DeWaele. Since opening its doors in 2016, Jennings’s Arlington location has become the highest-performing MADabolic franchise gym nationwide.

Brothers Jesse and Dan Holloway recently inked an agreement that will soon bring a MADabolic gym to Pittsburgh, the first location in Pennsylvania. The deal came to fruition after Dan experienced the concept firsthand in Charlotte, North Carolina, where MADabolic is headquartered. Jesse believes that MADabolic fills an important niche in the fitness market, especially in Pittsburgh, catering to lifelong athletes and fitness enthusiasts looking for premier strength training and conditioning programs.

While a majority of boutique fitness workouts are strictly cardio-focused, MADabolic delivers an alternative regimen to fitness enthusiasts and motivated members who want to go beyond the everyday vanilla workout. This formula seems to be catching on as the growth of MADabolic continues to perform. The gym has made such a splash in the industry that it has now also secured capital from ZGrowth Partners.

This boost of capital will pump up MADabolic’s target growth goal of 30-35 locations by the end of 2020 and 200 locations in the next five years. The concept has scaled well throughout Charlotte and has expanded to markets in D.C. and Atlanta. Now, Cullen and DeWaele are launching a larger strategic expansion initiative to flex the concept nationwide.
